The Model Exchange is a UK-based online marketplace built by collectors, for collectors. We provide a dedicated platform for enthusiasts to buy, sell, and trade models in a trusted, specialist community. Unlike general auction sites, every feature of our platform is designed with model collectors in mind.

Store — New models from official brand partners and authorised retailers, shipped directly to you with full manufacturer warranty.

Collector Membership

For just £2.99 per month, members enjoy selling advantages including no listing fees, promoted listings, and a Verified Collector badge. Buyers get early access to new releases and ad-free browsing across the platform. Member-only preorders and sold price history are on the roadmap.

Our Categories

We currently specialise in two categories, with plans to expand:

  • Aircraft — Diecast and resin model aircraft in scales from 1:500 to 1:72, covering commercial airlines, military, and historic aviation.
  • Trains — Model railway locomotives, rolling stock, and accessories across all popular gauges including OO, N, and O gauge.

Additional categories including cars, ships, and military vehicles are planned for future expansion.

Customer Satisfaction

The Model Exchange wants to ensure quality of product for our customers. With this in mind, all payments will be held in escrow to ensure validity of product. Once a customer has confirmed receipt and status of their purchase, the payment will be released to the seller in full. Should no contact be made after 7 days from delivery, funds will be released to the seller. Any disputes will be individually looked at by the team here at The Model Exchange.

Fees

Listing on The Model Exchange is free. Sellers receive the full price they set with no deductions. A 7% purchasing fee is included in the listed price shown to buyers, covering payment processing, escrow protection and refund handling. All payments are handled securely through Stripe.
